Organized Hall Closet

If I ever doubt that I am blessed, I just need to look down the hallway.

Although our house is old, the people who built it were way ahead of their time when they decided to add this closet.

“Margie, I think I’ll add a huge closet riiiight… here!”

“Dear, what is this closet idea you speak of?”

“Oh, you know, a big area where we can shove everything out of sight so that our guests will not know we live like pigs.”

image

“Ohhh, John! That’s brilliant!”

I tackled my closet last week, and whew did it need it (see above).

Before I dreaded opening it, now I open it and it smiles back. :)

Top: extra baby/cleaning wipes containers, extra towels, beach towels, scale, light bulbs.

2nd: cloth diaper dust rags, tiny (for baby dolls), swim, and extra diapers

3rd: sheet sets (in the back), crib sheets, cuddly blankets, washcloths, Shaklee brochures and samples

4th: basket o’ cleaning cloths, toilet paper, basket o’ extra toiletries and small cleaning products, and paper towel rolls cut in half (all ready to make baby wipes)

But the bottom shelf… ooooh that bottom shelf is my favorite!

Extra cleaning supplies and taller toiletries like shampoo, apple cider vinegar (I use it as conditioner), peroxide, yada yada yada.

…aaaaaand TOYS!

The closet is deep enough for two layers of toy bin and puzzle storage, lest I have a Melissa & Doug factory scattered across my family room.

and into my dining room…

and on the top of my fridge… (that USA puzzle has 50 pieces!!!!)

I organized the toys a while back (and of course never posted it).

The bins and puzzles fit perfectly in here. Out of my sight, out of her sight, and not all over my floor every day.

So that’s my hallway linen closet.

I’d love to do a post on toy storage in a small home, what say you?

Do you have any secret closets or quirky spots?
