I heard a slurping noise coming the kitchen and while I knew it was coming from Ben, I could not figure out what he was slurping in there. Well, uhhh…

Yes, I brush Lily’s hair.
No, I don’t normally sound like an excited Tickle Me Elmo. ;)
NOT!
It’s only just beginning! Muahahaha!!!
Contrary to what most people think, the twelve days of Christmas start on Christmas and go until the Epiphany. So for us, that means leaving up the decorations, enjoying the tree a bit longer, and getting to burn all four candles *together!* for at least another nine days.
It also gives me an excuse to post pics of our Christmas decor now instead of when everyone else was. Admit it, there were too many other pretty trees to look at. You wouldn’t have paid attention to mine at least 2 weeks ago ;)
The burlap tree star was made by moi, as well as the hot glue icicle ornaments. Strips of burlap serve as garland in between the swags of fancy garland giving a nice contrast of natural and rough, yet shiny and sparkly.
The ball ornaments were from my mom, grandma, goodwill (and spray painted Heirloom White), and Target (glittery dollar spot minis).
We don’t have a mantle, so a curtain rod holds our stockings quite nicely.
Merry 3rd Day of Christmas. :)
You may not have known that I’m famous…
August 14, 2007.
My 22nd birthday, Doug got me a camera! It’s still the one I use and love, three years later.
My family was spending the weekend at my parents’ friends’ cottage on a lake. My sister, Doug, and I were goofing around and discovered that the camera had a video feature. Ohhhhh SNAP.
Seconds later, the iPod was all set up to play “Killer Queen,” we grabbed a broom, paper towels, and our sunglasses and my sister and I made a music video from which these still shots are taken. Doug said that the only ones who would ever think this was funny was me and Ashley (my sister).
Lol, he’s probably right, but I still think it’s hilarious. These pictures don’t do it justice, so here you go!
Be warned, you probably won’t think it’s as funny as I do, lol.

Three years later, I still remember all of the dance moves and whenever this song comes on, my sister and I spontaneously break into our moves from the video. We’ve tried to make another, but between me moving out and having two kids, it just hasn’t happened. Ashley – if you’re reading this, this summer it’s on! We ARE making another video!
Why am I posting this flashback? CAUSE I FINALLY FOUND MY QUEEN CD AFTER 5 YEARS OF LOOKING FOR IT!!
I’m so stoked, listening to it right now…
Head over to Flashback Friday at Christopher and Tia’s!
I’ve been a bad blogger lately…
I hit the best neighborhood garage sale of the year, including a stop at the “Pottery Barn house,” and never talked about it. I pretty much redecorated my whole living room,
bedroom, and got a new kitchen table and never blogged about it. We’ve done a ton of work to our yard and our garden is planted, and yep, you guessed it, I never talked about it.
Blame it on trying to get things done, or making lists of things that NEED to get done. Or the huge pile of laundry quickly multiplying and yelling “wash me! wash me!” or the MASSIVE amounts of Braxton-Hicks contractions that make sitting on the couch and sleeping at night painful.
BUT we’re doing good here, making progress around the house, getting ready for the little mister to arrive (due June 8th – 2 1/2 weeks away), and taking pictures so that one day I can share them with you!
But… the purpose of this post was not to make sorry excuses, it was to show you how cute my girl is, lol.

Excuse my squeaky voice, and yes, we feed her more than bubbles. ;)
