Sounds like my kinda’ book! I stole stuff from the trash that 2 neighbors had tonight – LOL! I was walking down the road thinking… I never would have dreamed I would become a garbage picker! I scored a cart on wheels (I visioned a coat of spray paint and making into my fabric caddy!) and a terracotta planter :)

Ann Marie, I have been craving potato salad and this sounds great! Sweet potato is such a great twist!
I am known for a Chinese dessert using glutinous rice flour and sweet bean paste (my mom’s recipe). I was surprised when an old lady asked for the recipe…that must mean it was good haha!

I chickened out while at Home Depot and bought a lighter gray, and now I’m kicking myself!! It looks way lighter than I wanted. And I bought two gallons! :(

I’m thinking I need to use those to paint furniture and maybe just suck it up and buy two more gallons of the Sharkey Gray. That color is just so nice. Does it look taupe in some lights when it’s in your house? I liked that it was a taupy gray and not so cool. Help convince me to waste more money on paint… ;)

I read your blog all the time because I can relate to it so well. I am so sorry to hear about Alice and my heart goes to her family and friends. I cant even imagine what they are going through. They just had two similar stories on the Today show this morning which makes me wonder what is going on?

Absolutely WONDERFUL idea.. my mom has been bugging me about using paper towels to wipe my kids butt because its cheaper BUT I only buy the cheapest paper towels. This has made me rethink it, although my moms suggestion was to through a dry roll in the diaper bag and go but of course not ideal for me! lol Seriously considering this..

Their house is amazing. Shaker style siding, big porch, pool, I can only imagine what the inside looks like! It’s almost like she redecorates a few rooms a year, and then sells many things in them. And then we redecorate our houses with that stuff, haha! It’s like the Circle of Life…

We get a lot of hit or miss “dud” garage sales too, but this one neighborhood wide is always a hit. We have family that drive over an hour to come! Hope you find some good ones this year :)

I’ve gotten better with pics, so I guess I gotta battle my video shyness, haha. DO IT! You need to be seen, you’ll be sad if you don’t some day. Or your kids will be sad. I don’t think they’d look right in person. BUT, I have two olive couches, haha! So I think I’ll reuse the green ones in a different room, and go with the new colors in the family room. I don’t know if there’s such a thing as too many pillows.. ;)

I JUST painted my laundry room and 1/2 bath in sharkey grey!! I love it!!! My parents did a complete renovation on their house last year (after 32 years) and their main color is sharkey grey with dark wood floors and white cabinetry in the kitchen. Such a great color. Your house looks amazing!!! Can’t wait to see the continued progress!
