This may be the gazillionth time you’re hearing this message, but it may not be so I’ll say it too!
As of March 1st, Google is discontinuing Google Friend Connect for non-blogger blogs. If you don’t remember what GFC is or don’t know what I’m talking about, it’s this little handy thing that says “follow” and it may be how many of you find my blog and read it day after day. I know I’ve found and “followed” a lot of great blogs, and I’m sad to see this feature go!
We’ve had a love hate relationship over the years. Sometimes GFC was really nice to me,
Sometimes he got on my nerves and was the source of some frustration and self- doubt,
and sometimes he was downright cruel and mean.
Last December, I switched to a self-hosted blog through WordPress. I’ll get into the why behind that switch soon. You may have noticed (especially if you’ve left a comment lately), or you may not have. I wanted to have the switch go as smoothly as possible, almost as if nothing really changed! I did create a new logo for our site and am still tweaking the design, but I am in LOVE! What do you think?
While I’m sad that GFC has decided that he no longer can work with me (ya know, on my site…), I’m happy to free of him and his calculating ways (ba-dum-chh!). I am glad that we can still connect in other ways!

In 5 years we’re all gonna look back and wonder how we didn’t see it coming with google. Talk about Big Brother — really bothers me.
Makes me nervous to use a Google product ever! Getting each and every one of those subscribers is hard work!

Funny post! Pure Wit! LOL Just found your blog and am adding you to my blog roll!
Great post! I didn’t know Google was doing away with Google Friend Connect until it just disappeared. I had to “google” to find out what happend. Bummer. I hate when a company decides to make everything about them, even though we use a kazillion of their products but opted to use another platform (WP) for this one little blog thingy.
