Peanut Butter and Apple Butter Sandwich

Now that it is not 100+ degrees out on a everyday basis, I find myself craving bits of fall. Jeans, boots, apple crisp, fallish décor. I know it’s only the end of August, but the weather we’ve been having feels like October and I kinda sorta love it.

I’m a summer fiend.

But this hot hot summer has me ready for fall.

My sister just returned from an internship in Tennessee, where she was on an archeological dig. (How cool is that? I feel hip just saying that last sentence.)

She came home bearing gifts of teddy bears, apple fritter mix, and apple butter. Apple butter. I love apple butter. I forget how much I love apple butter.

I made a PB&AB, and it was so good. So good that I’m gonna blow through container and then either have to 1.) go on a road trip to to Tennessee, 2.) learn how to make my own. With the rising cost of gas, I’m guessing number two would be a less expensive option. Thank you, Ashley for the sweet gift!

I’m not including a recipe and I hope that’s okay. If you do not know how to make a peanut butter and jelly sandwich (aka, PB&J), please watch this clip from Barney and Friends.

I was perusing The Cleverist on Facebook when my eyes locked on a very familiar favorite, apple butter from The Apple Barn in Pigeon Forge, TN. Is it not the best apple butter? I bring it home every trip and wish I had some now! Peanut butter, Apple Barn apple butter, five grain bread, and a glass of ice cold “sweet milk” as they say in Tennessee. Oh yeah, It’s gourmet peanut butter apple butter time!
