I have been wanting to create a photo wall in our home for a while, but have been lacking inspiration. Bland frames, bland colors, all from a garage sale, none I truly love, and a whole lot of blah. This space when you first enter our home was equally bland, and I needed to create an impression.
I wanted to spice up my home a bit so I headed to World Market last weekend to check out their new Life of Pi collection, inspired by the movie of the same name.
Life of Pi is the story of an Indian boy named Pi, a zookeeper’s son, who survives a disaster at sea and is thrown into an epic journey. While adrift in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, he forms an amazing and unexpected connection with another a fearsome Bengal tiger.
The movie opened in theaters November 21st, 2012. You can watch the trailer for Life of Pi here. I have the book out from the library and just started reading it. I can’t wait to see the movie!
Here’s a sneak peek of the Life of Pi collection at my store:
Iw as blown away with bold colors and beautiful textures of the collection. Metal, wood, bone, and TONS of color! I saw the lace-like stamping on this metal Syona patterned frame and it was love at first sight. I picked up three. ;)
look at that detail!
and can we talk about this Venya scalloped frame for a second?
Or should I just devote the whole post to it?
Holy cow, look at this gorgeous texture and scarlet color! I had a really hard time chosing between this red, white, ocean blue, or a vivid green. I also had a really hard time limiting myself to two of them. SWOON!
I’m trying to get myself out of my prior of decorating rut of neutral décor and bland textures. These frames are unique and add some spice to our home! I am convinced that World Market the best place to go when you’re in that “dull décor” trap and need a punch of uniqueness and inspiration.
My little photo display is dressed up for the season with gold mercury glass votive holders from World Market and hand-me-down vintage ornaments. I love seeing the exotic elements paired with familiar ones.
The new photo wall adds some spice to our family room and completes the space. Finally! Some pictures of us! And some gorgeous frames to make us all look fancy!
here’s one last look at the space, just cause it fills me with so much happy inside ;)

That sure adds a lot to your spot on the wall! I love how the color pops on those! I’ve been wanting to get new picture frames and how you decorated gives me some great ideas! I can’t wait to see this movie, too! I love the trailers!
