Swap It Like It's Hot

October 7, 2015 |

My friend Charlotte at Ciburbanity is hosting a fun challenge this week, Swap It Like Its Hot!

Each of us sent some thrifted items to another blogger to be made over. For this challenge I was given these thrifted items from Karen at A Year of Serendipity:

Pretty tricky, huh?

I was originally thinking of making something with the wooden circle piece, but my 3 year old thought it was the coolest "wheel" ever and hid it somewhere.  So we'll get to that piece eventually. Instead, I used the faux leather pieces to make this sweet banner:

Love one another.

Show them love even if they're throwing a temper tantrum or not listening. Be mindful of your actions online and in real life. Smile at strangers and be kind to those you meet. All good things I should need to be doing. 🙂

I have this little banner near the front door and it's a great reminder as we head out the door.

I used my Cricut to cut vinyl letters and attached them to the banner. I cut a wooden dowel to size, went over it with some teak oil, hot glued the banner to the dowel, and hung the banner with some twine.

Be sure to check out the next gal on the stop, my friend Caitlin at Desert Domicle! Here's what I sent her:

Dun, dun, DUN!

Tune in all week to see the crazy items this talented group of bloggers has been making over! Search the hashtag #swapitlikeitshot on social media to follow along with all the fun or check out our Pinterest Board.

Love your banner. I've been wanting to make one of my own because they are so versatile and I can make one for every season, but I also could put something crazy on there and just keep it up all year!

Thank you, Kimm. I wouldn't have even thought of what she did, it's pretty awesome. She worked her magic on it, that's for sure!

I love this! And love this idea for the Cricut... for whatever reason, I'm always a bone head about what to use it for, and this is so sweet! Thanks for joining the fun, girl!!

I'm the same way! I never use my Cricut. I think there are so many things to use it for, I forget to use it for any of them.

      Thanks, Charlotte! 🙂
