An Updated Dining Room

July 11, 2011 |

As I update our WAY outdated house tour (from March ‘09 - yikes),  I’ll be posting individual rooms one at a time to give you a look at how things really look around here today!

We’ve come a long way. Although I often feel as if there are SO many things I want to do and not enough
money, time, drive, inspiration,
whatever and I beat myself up for it…

it’s great to look at these pictures. What a difference!

Although the furnishings in the August ‘09 picture are adorable, they belonged to the previous owner!

We patched and painted the room, as well as the crown moulding that was in such poor condition, we almost ripped it out. We replaced the drafty and broken original wood windows with white, energy efficient windows. We brought in our tiny table and chairs set, as well as added a chandelier from a garage sale.

We painted and distressed a corner cabinet and hutch, that process is here and here.

But the table just wasn’t enough for our growing family. Doug’s mom helped us find this black and wood set at a garage sale and it completely changed the room.

Cost of all furniture and accessories? $259!
($159 if you subtract what we made from selling the old table!)

I’d like to paint at least the trim around the window white, maybe even all of it. I do have curtains and a curtain rod, they’re just waiting to be hung. 🙂

thanks for reading our feed, please stop by the house for a visit sometime soon. 🙂

Wow! That is an adorable dining room! I'm so jealous of your awesome trim throughout that house!
