Hi There! I'm Kristen, and I blog over at Capturing Joy with Kristen Duke. I'm a mother of 4, professional photographer, diy-er, recipe sharer, and author of 2 photography books. I'd love to have you come on over and say hello! With my kids, we tried to cram in as much as possible the last week of our summer before school started. One of the items on our checklist was to hold a Backyard Olympics. My kids planned it all out, we invited a bunch of friends, and spent an hour in the backyard playing games. They decided on 4 sports:
Hurdles (kitchen stools and backyard toys work great)
200 meter run Long Jump (they each had a "marker" to show where they landed) Soccer
It was really so much fun, and didn't take hardly any preparation. It was fun to watch my kids be in charge, and I had them give a little sportsmenship pep talk before we began. You can have your own backyard olympics any time of year, but it was really fun to end the summer this way! We ended the fun with a box full of otter pops! Thanks for having me!
