I haven’t been posting much about garage sailing because I haven’t been doing much garage sale-ing. I think the 40 bags in 40 days that we tackled back in the spring really helped (GOOD! haha), and I’m trying to limit myself.
If I don’t have a place for it and I don’t LOVE it, it doesn’t come home! It’s that simple.
I seemed to find everything I was looking for/planning on buying that day: canning jars, sunglasses for Lily (she broke hers about 5 min before we found them!), fall clothes for the kids, vintage Curious George books, lemonade and cookies… ya know. 😉
But my favorite find was 3 big shoeboxes full of Lincoln Logs for $4!

The gentleman running the sale saw me with the kids and exclaimed “you look like you need some Lincoln Logs!”

I laughed and kept looking, but the more I thought about it, I have the best memories of playing Lincoln Logs. In my friend Katie’s basement, with my dad, as a teen with my little brother.
He was right.

Sorting the pieces, trying to find the piece that dad’s looking for, strategically placing each log, and the excitement of realizing that she built a “castle”
I saw my 2 year old get as excited about Lincoln Logs as I once did as a kid.
Lily loved them, Doug was excited about my find, and 1 year old Godzilla Ben loved stealing them from the two of them. It was the first of many great memories, all for $4. 🙂
What steals have YOU found lately?

Lincoln Logs are fantastic. My kids go in and out of LL phases, so I know I can't get rid of them. Besides, they are great as kids get older, too. Congrats on a great find!

No big steals for me lately. I feel like I keep bringing stuff into my house and it can't fit! Haha. Looks like I need to do the 40 bags thing as well! That's awesome that you found what you wanted.Bekahbeckaboots.blogspot.com

I still have my lincoln logs just waiting for my daughter to be old enough to play with them. I loved them so much as a kid.
