the above post title is the response I get when I ask Lily what happened... she gets a look of confusion and acts as if she has no clue why the milk is all over the floor.
Thank you for all your comments and love on our announcement post, and on our photos and updates on facebook! Things are going great here. Last week we kinda sat back and relaxed, woke up late, took a lot of naps, visited with family, worked on some house projects (Doug was home – I had to put him to work...), and just spent time together. It was nice.
Today Doug went back to work and it was bittersweet. I miss having him home, but I feel like I was ready to try my hand out at this three kids thing.
“Mom! Make me tiny, like baby Adam!”
I remember talking about “finding our new normal” after Ben was born, but really I feel like we’ve found it. Things don’t feel any different other than we have Adam now. And he’s cute and snuggly. And needs to be fed and/or changed every hour or so. 🙂
She snuggled him up with this blanket and said “Look mom, baby Adam has a pirate hat. He’s sooo cute.”
They’re all napping right now, and sure I should probably be sneaking one in too, but here I sit with a cup of hot tea, feet up, and my laptop in my lap. I found a new favorite spot in my living room – I forgot how comfy this couch was. I feel like I spent the last few months of my life camped out in the family room and it’s nice to have a change of scenery.
Doug was busy while he was home. I’ll save the details for another post, but he designed and built a shelf, hung these curtain rods,
and these curtain rods
and yesterday, we started building an upholstered headboard.
I feel like with every kid I nest AFTER the pregnancy has ended. I was cooped up with my bum legs for so long and then was huge and preggo and now I don’t know what to do with myself...
Yes. That is my first time with a saw. Don’t be like me and have your hair in your face with no safety goggles on... not a good idea.
So here’s to 2012! 2011 had its challenges, but every year, month, and day does. Overall I’m pleased as punch at the way the year panned out and especially with the way it ended! 😉

Thanks! 🙂

I love the curtains and can't wait to see the head board. Lily and Adam's picture made me laugh!

It still makes me laugh too 🙂

Cannot beat that ending. When we had our first our whole world was turned upside down. When we had our second she fit right in seamlessly. It is like she had always been there. I know exactly what you are talking about. I hope when we get around to a third it goes as well. Can't wait to see the headboard!

I couldn't agree more, it's funny how it works out like that! And I'm sure it will. 🙂
