I can't believe we've been living here just over a month! In the the last tour, I shared the main floor and exterior of this house, today I'll share the upstairs.
We've already started renovations on the house, if you follow on Instagram (@whitehouseblackshutters), you can see what we've been up to. The Instagram stories feature has been nice for quick real-time updates. I can't always find my laptop to write a post, but I always have my phone!
Soon I'll go into our plan for the house, where we'll be working first, and what we've done up to this point. Even some quick posts to show you how we're making things work for now. Since we're hoping to get things done quickly, we're waiting to settle in and keeping non-essentials in storage. Which means not much decorating but I suppose I can wait. A bit. 😉
Here's a look at the upstairs of our house:
Stairs leading to the upstairs, those two windows give a great cross breeze to the rooms opposite them. The stairs are wide and not steep like many of the old houses we looked at. The hallway is spacious and light filled.
And looking the other way (photo from when the previous owners were here).
Boys' room and a closer look at the flooring. Our three boys (7, 5, and 4) will be sharing this space. We're trying to decide if we should paint the wide planks, install new wood, or try to finish the soft pine.
The girls' room. Our two girls (8 and 2) will be sharing this room, it has a really nice closet with shelving.
Master bedroom, this room also has a large closet.
4th bedroom/office. This room is already almost done! I'm excited to share the progress, it's much more bright now.
Upstairs bathroom. Of course the only picture I have is this blurry shot, which will make the before and after even better. 😉 Not much needs to be done in here.
If you saw the first part of our house tour, we do have another bedroom downstairs, however that will become part of the family room once we take down a wall.
And that's it for now! We also have an unfinished basement I'll share when I talk about the work we've done down there. If you have any questions, leave them in the comments here or on Facebook, I'll be happy to answer them!

Such a beautiful house, even before it's done. The wood floors look great. We had the same wood floors in one house we lived in, in New Jersey. We called them Pumpkin planks. It seems as if you will have more than enough room for your family. I think the wood doors and wood around the home is beautiful It's so nice that it wasn't painted over. May you have many blessings living there and finishing it to your family's needs.

It has nice charter and is going to look so nice! I love all the trim!
I would probably paint the wood, maybe refinish them.
