I really don't like to mop. Like at all. And that's really bad because these floors should probably be mopped daily.
Ummm, yeah. That's gross. And now I'm embarrassed. 🙂
So when I was asked to review the new iRobot Braava Floor Mopping Robot, I wanted to jump through the computer and hug the sender. I remained calm and said yes. When the Braava got here, or Mr. Roboto as I like to call him, I ripped open the box like it was Christmas morning. And then felt a little disappointed.
That's it?Â
It was so tiny and cute! I didn't think it could stand up to the mess that is our house. But I was wrong.
My floors look amazing. They sparkle like they've never sparkled before. And not only that, but I'm actually excited to mop my floors now because I don't have to do it. (It's easy to have a chore become your favorite when you don't have to do it.)
Here are seven reasons why you need a robot to come clean your floors.
1.) I like you.
Yep, that's my first reason. I like you and I think you deserve a little break with all that you do (or don't do, I don't judge). Whether you're a mom or not a mom, I'm guessing that all day long you work hard. At the end of a long day, I don't want you to have to clean your floors too. So go get a robot. 🙂
2.) You can go clean other stuff instead.
So exciting, I know! This reason seems lame, but hear me out.
Normally I clean the kitchen and think "oh crap, now I have to clean the floor" and then it takes me twice the time to finish the room. Not this time! I started my little guy off on one side of the kitchen, did the dishes and cleaned the countertops, and we worked together to get that room back in shape.
3.) You can relax.
Grab a cup of coffee. Put your feet up. The holiday season is stressful. It's going to be nice to have one less thing to worry about!
4.) You can go have fun while someone cleans your house.
While my little guy was cleaning the floor, we left to get a Christmas tree. Did some more shopping, picked up a pizza, went to a cousin's house, and hung out.
I wondered if I'd have to babysit the robot while it cleaned, or if would know what to do around furniture and rugs all that. It knew exactly what to do. When the iRobot came up to a rug or steps, it detected it, moved, and went back to work.
5.) You don't have to stress about keeping the floors clean
When we got home, our floors sparkled in the moonlight and I was all "KIDS TAKE YOUR SHOES OFF THE FLOOR IS CLEAN!!!!"
As soon as I freaked, I realized I didn't clean the floor, my robot did. And cleaning those little footprints up would be as simple as pressing a button before we all went to bed. Seriously awesome.Â
6.) Free entertainment.
Your kids or pets will think it is the coolest thing. They'll be all excited that you own a robot. And even if you don't have kids, you'll probably be just as entertained while watching it clean and sing its cute little song when finished.
7.) It'll inspire you to keep things clean.
What?!
Yes.
Now that I have experienced the magic of clean floors, Â I want to keep them clean. And if I know don't have to mop, it frees up time for me to do other cleaning. I can see us cleaning up for the day, then winding down at the end of the night while Mr. Roboto cleans our floors.
Other Pros:
-The Braava also has a dust mopping option, which is great for old dusty homes like ours. And pet hair. And long Ann Marie hair because I shed like a dog.
-Uses Swiffer or store-brand dry or wet mopping cloths, so you don't need to spend a lot on extra accessories.
-Loosens up hard, gross, stuck-on messes. This isn't a floor washer like the iRobot Scoomba, but it did loosen up some bad spots I was having a hard time cleaning.
-Doesn't leave the floor super wet. This is great for hardwood floors, or when you have clumsy little kids that can come in and slip and fall. The Brava used enough water to mop the floor and no more, and it was dry within 5-10 minutes.
Cons:
-It doesn't clean my toilets or do laundry. Bummer. 😉
What would you do if you had a robot to clean your floors?
This post sponsored by iRobot. Any dislike for mopping expressed is all my own.

LOL! It must be the age, I freak out because our almost 2 year old does that almost daily. I will admit that I did it every day when we first got it, but have recently been doing it a few times a week. The floors are so much better though!

I need this. The end.
P.s. which model do you have? I noticed there were 2 Bravaas...

I've been begging my hubby for one of these for forever! You're such a lucky girl! 🙂
