Adam’s Baptism

February 3, 2012 |

Last Sunday, our sweet Adam Joseph was baptized! Here are some pictures of the day.

Here we are with Adam’s Godparents: Doug’s sister Bonnie and her husband Scott.

Afterwards we had a little get together at our house with our families. Doug’s family was sick, so they were unable to come. 🙁

Lots of delicious food! Fettuccini alfredo with chicken and broccoli, salad, garlic bread, and strawberries.

I told you that Doug and I eat at this kids’ table! 🙂

Doug’s twelve year old sister Rachelle made a cake for the occasion and did an amazing job! It had a layer of lemon in the center, it was sooo delicious. She’s now the official cake baker of this family 🙂

I still have a little piece in the fridge that I think I’m going to grab as soon as this is posted...

I lost my SD card with the photos on it from the actual baptism, but he was such a little angel! Doug and I were taking bets on whether or not he’d cry while the priest was pouring the water over his head. I thought I was golden and said he would, since this kid has been a cranky one. Nope! No tears, no crying!

He opened his eyes up wide, had his mouth open in a tiny o, and looked right at me with a peaceful look on his face, as if he knew what was going on. I wish my eyes could just snap pictures of moments as they come. It was so beautiful.

What a gorgeous family. How sweet you all look. Really enjoy your little ones, they are so precious and beautiful. They grow up so darned quickly and you have to try to remember so much of what it was like. I'm so glad my parents were big on taking lots of pictures that I still have 2 big albums of all of us, (4 kids in just our immediate family). Our grandson who was diagnosed with testicular cancer at 13 asked for pics of his Dad to see what he was like. I made an album for him of his Dad from birth to the present. It seemed to mean alot to him. Grandson is 100% clear of cancer as of this time last year, he's 18 now, played football the last 2 years in high school. If it wasn't for those albums I wouldn't have been able to make that album for him.

This looks like it was an amazing day. Everyone looks fantastic and happy. I baptised my children myself... They will eventually get baptised in a church, but I wanted to do it for them and for my own piece of mind.

How precious! I am embarrassed to say I still haven't gotten Eleanor baptized. The time just went so fast and now she is going to be nine months old!! Thanks for reminding me how important it is to get this done.
