    Color Blocked Easter Brunch Tablescape

    March 12, 2013 |

colorful and simple Easter brunch tablescape with items from Target!

I don’t do a lot of seasonal decorating, but there is just something about spring.

Spring brings bright colors, whimiscal patterns, and a little bit of life into your home while the weather outside is still crummy. And you’re still getting snow. In mid-March. I’ll stop right there. 😉 Come on, spring!

I’ve been wanting to do a table setting for brunch and our dishes were looking shabby. Target always has the happiest stuff so I headed there for new plates. I wanted something to add a bit of fun to our kitchen cupboards and challenged myself to create this tablescape with ONLY items from Target!

Neutral colors mixed with bold colors and simple elements. I was picturing a color blocked tablescape:

When I saw  these Threshold plates, they went STRAIGHT into my cart. The color is a vibrant coral and the scalloped edges were unlike any plates I’ve seen. And they’re melamine, so your kids (or clumsy self) won’t break them and they won’t get beat up in the dishwasher. $2.79 for the small appetizer size!

Threshold™ 12 Piece Scalloped Dinnerware Set in coral, $34.99 via @Target. Made of Melamine so won't break easily.

Everything is more fun in an individual size dish, so I also picked up these large, dotted ramekins to make individual breakfast casseroles. I’m excited to try them out for pot pies, desserts, or French Onion soup!

Add a Threshold tablecloth, mason jars for cups, striped paper straws (from Target’s party supplies section), and neon Paas dyed eggs and you have a simple, yet colorful Sunday brunch table setting.

Classy enough for Easter brunch, but also just as perfect for a Tuesday morning breakfast with the fam. 🙂

Head to Target to check out their new Threshold collection. They’re constantly changing things up and adding new items. I saw many new things that I hadn’t seen even just last week!

Because, yes... I will admit that I’m at Target almost every week and I know many of you are too. 😉
