I think we started a tradition! Last night before I went to bed, I decked the halls with lots of streamers...
and tossed blown up balloons into the kids’ room while they slept. Doug asked if he could wake them up before he went to work so he could see their reaction. I said no, lol. But seconds later they woke up.
They were SO excited! Lily saw the balloons and in a shriek-y voice said “Guys! Come here!!! There’s balloons in my room for my birthday!!!”
Getting ready for a day filled with balloons, streamers, a trip to the park,
breakfast tacos (her request),
carrot cake (again, her request – I’ve been asked about 50 times already to make it),
yellow painted fingers and toes,
painting these birdhouses to hang in their room (big = $1 at JoAnn’s, tiny = $1 at Target Dollar Spot),
and pizza with the whole fam tonight.
Happy birthday, Lily!
These past three years with you and your brothers have been the best of my life.
Your smile melts my heart, your sense of humor cracks me up, and I’m amazed every day at how smart you are! I can’t believe how big you are, I love watching you grow, and am looking forward to the next year!

Aww! Happy Birthday Lily!
It makes me so happy and sad all at the same time to think our little girls are already three. Well, Riley's birthday is at the end of the month but still! Happy three years of Motherhood to you, Ann Marie! xx

Aw such a cute idea! I'll have to try this one out. Happy Birthday, Lily!

I may or may not have teared up a bit! Sounds like a lovely day. I wish that every child got to feel that special on their birthday. We did the balloons and streamers when Quinn turned three and I know it is a tradition around here too!
Sidenote: I am jealous of that mixer and that cake. YUM! Looked like there was some cream cheese frosting involved. Carrot cake was actually my wedding cake!

Happy Birthday Lily!!
