Do you like Nutella? (Who doesn’t?) Today’s Summer Block Party host has a delicious and easy Nutella dessert for you, that doesn’t involve just grabbing the jar and a spoon. Say hi to Vanessa!
Hi guys, I’m Vanessa from MommyNess Adventures. Thank you so much for letting me visit you all today here on White House Black Shutters. I’m thrilled to be participating in the Summer Block Party.
Ok, I have a HUGE confession to make. I had never tried Nutella until last week…everyone has talked and raved about it, but my family just didn’t understand what all the hype was about. Well, I talked myself into buying a SMALL jar, just to see what everyone was so excited over.
I’m now regretting only buying a small jar! Another confession, for dessert the other night, we just passed the jar and a spoon around the table and ate Nutella for dessert!!
Although it is great by itself, I have learned that it can pizzazz a regular recipe to the next level! So I decided to make a yummy puff pastry dessert and put a little lather some Nutella on.
Nutella & Raspberry Pastry
- Cream Cheese Filling
- Nutella
- Frozen Puff Pastry
- Fresh Raspberries
Cut the Puff Pastry into equal squares (I cut mine in 3rds, along the fold lines, and then in 3rds the other direction). Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. It will puff up HUGE! Don’t worry, it will shrink down a bit as it cools. Cool the pastry completely.
While the pastry is cooling, you can mash up some of the fresh raspberries. I like to have mine in more of a sauce consistency for this dessert.
Cream Cheese Filling
- 4 oz cream cheese
- ¾ cup Cool Whip
- ½ teaspoon Vanilla Extract
Bring the cream cheese to room tempature. Then mix with cool whip and vanilla extract until smooth.
Layer 1 pastry, then lather on some Nutella…like a TON! followed by a bit of the raspberry sauce. Place another pastry on top and a dollop of the cream cheese filling. Top it with a few raspberries, just for looks!
Thanks so much for letting me stop by and share my new found love for Nutella. Please stop by MommyNess Adventures as well as all of my other fun ways to stay connected (I’m kinda a social media freak!)
