After wanting one for the past few years and saying “next year,” “next year,” “next year…” we got a real tree this year!
I love it. It smells good, it looks good, the kids were super excited about it, and it just looks happier in here. Sure it’s messier than a fake tree, but with two little ones I need to vacuum at the end of every day anyways. 😉
I made some a lot of these for the tree:

My dad scored us some free Christmas lights and rescued them from the garbage (the old glass C9’s just like I wanted!). So for the first year, we have lights on our house. 🙂
Doug made an awesome village scene (but that deserves it’s own post).
You can’t see our tree yet because I still need to add the remainder of the ornaments.
But this is hilarious 🙂
