Last night I got impatient and posted our
Summer Drink Giveaway!
Three lovely prizes for three lovely readers, click the link above to enter. 🙂
I’m so happy to introduce you to another one of my favorite bloggers! Her blogging tips and series are invaluable, her crafts are actually something I would actually need and do, and hers is probably the only blog my husband knows of besides my own (thanks to a hilarious Seinfeld reference in the name)!
If there’s one blogger we can all learn a trick or two or fifty from, it would definitely be Amanda.
Here she is with a drink that will have you hiding from the kids and channeling your best Frank Costanza, “Serenity NOW!”

Hello, White House, Black Shutters readers! My name is Amanda and I blog at Serenity Now.
I write about crafts, thrifty decorating, recipes, and home life. I also host a weekly blog party, Weekend Bloggy Reading, where bloggers link up their best post of the week on Friday mornings. It's so much fun to see the variety of posts bloggers bring.
Every so often, I can get my kids to play in the back yard peacefully and independently, without stopping me every fifteen seconds to say "she bit me-can you push me on the swings-I'm hungry-I have to go potty-can we go inside-I'm hungry-that bug is chasing me-I'm dirty-I'm hungry-I'm hungry." As you can imagine, that can wear on a mother's nerves. For those rare occasions that I can get my children to play cooperatively, I like to have a little something to celebrate. In the winter, it's a Cafe Mocha. With Virginia weather inching into the 90s, I decided to try my hand at a frozen version of my favorite "indulgent" drink:
Ingredients: Pre-made mocha 1 ½ to 2 cups ice Whipped cream and chocolate syrup (for garnish) Milk Blender I added my ice, mocha, and a dash more milk to the blender. (I had to use whole milk because that's what my girls drink, but any milk is fine) I hit blend and let the ingredients churn until the mixture looked thick and icy.
The only thing left to do was pour my treat into a glass, garnish with delicious whipped cream and chocolate syrup...and enjoy! Make this for the moms at your next play date, and you'll be everybody's BFF!
Thank you so much, Ann Marie, for sharing your blog with me today! I was so honored that you asked me to contribute to Summer Drink Week. So very nice to *meet* you all!
Cheers to yummy summer drinks!

Delish! Thanks for stopping by, Amanda! I’ve already had one of her frozen mochas earlier in the week and I’m thinking I’ll make another during naptime…
Be sure to stop by her blog and facebook page and say hi!
Paula
This sounds like a perfect hot day treat!

I just realized my comment sounds like an ad, I promise it's not. What I should have said was, your recipe would work great in the new frappe maker I just bought!

YUM! Amanda, that looks soooo decadent and delish! MMMMM! Thanks for sharing. I gotta get a blender.
Carrie
I just bought a Mr. Coffee frappe maker, it's genius. You put in ground coffee and water and ice and milk and syrup. It brews the coffee then whips everything into a frenzy. DELISH! Just thought I'd share with fellow frozen coffee lovers. 😉
