Happy Friday, all! I'm thrilled to be joining in the Summer Block Party fun here on White House Black Shutters! I’m Sara from Mom Endeavors, where you'll find me blogging about all my everyday mom endeavors (so really, a little bit of everything)!
I'm the mom of two little guys (with #3 on the way in less than 2 months) and we know all about summer here! See, we live in the sunny desert of Arizona, where it's rather summer-like for a good 5 months out of the year! Needless to say then, we have quite a few summer fun activities & recipes--perfect for sharing here at the Summer Block Party! 🙂
It probably comes as no surprise that a lot of our summer fun involves some kind of water play--whether that be at the pool or playing in the sprinkler. What's really fun is letting the kids make their own water toys, like these DIY splash balls! We even created our own backyard fishing activity that is PERFECT for a party with kids or just some fun outside play! Another great thing about summer is all the fun food! With kids out of school & people often taking a bit more vacation time, it seems like many people enjoy getting together with friends and family over the summer! When possible, we love doing themed playdates & parties to add to the fun! Beach & water themes are especially perfect for the summer! You could try making some beach sundaes or even some beach ball fruit pizza! And, of course, grilling is another summer favorite (although really here, we can do it year round).
With midwestern roots, one of our grilling favorites are beer brats with corn on the cob! Then, marinated vegetable salad & ambrosia are two perfect summer side dishes--they're great for potlucks or, of course, a summer block party! 😉
ENJOY!
What are YOUR favorite summer fun activities/recipes?
Thanks for having me here today, Ann! 🙂
Sara is a mom of two little guys (with a 3rd the way in July) who hung up her biology teacher lab coat in order to spend more time at home with them.
When she’s not playing dinosaurs, cars, or doing a million other “mom” things, you can find her blogging at Mom Endeavors or chatting on Twitter and/or Facebook.
