The Big Bed is OUT!

October 17, 2011 |

Well not, completely gone. Still in our garage and still very much for sale – but it’s out of our room!
I love our bed, it’s beautiful, but just too big for our super small bedroom. We went from this:

to this:

To this! Haha, you would think this would be the “before” not the “after?”
It’s like a blank slate. I love it. 🙂

The bedspread is a full, but we have a BIG comfy queen that I’m planning on making a duvet for, but I have no clue what I want. I thought I wanted the white and fluffy anthro look, but now I’m thinking otherwise. White bedspread people? Is it practical with kids? I’m scared…
Don’t worry, this project will probably not happen until a year from now, plenty of time to decide 😉

I’m picturing a tufted headboard with nailhead trim, I like this one with a border.

I think this drop cloth is what we’ll be using as far as fabric, to keep things neutral. I have the
foam padding, batting, just need the plywood and nailhead trim (and the time).
I’m hoping to not paint the walls, but instead add patterns and color elsewhere.

I like the look of this one!

I’ve been hanging on to some woven baskets/chargers in the basement with the idea of creating
something similar to this look:

haha, I’ve used them once! In this tablescape – one of my favorite posts 🙂

Oh what the crap, I’ll just tell you now. I like navy & white, and either combining it with a melon, saffron, or purple. Or olive green. Or grays?
That’s why I have to have neutral walls and furniture, people. I change my mind too dang much! Those colors, they’re just so pretty. 🙂

Feel free to post any links to your bedrooms or pinterest pages, I need all the inspiration and toning down I can get!

thanks for reading our feed, please stop by the house for a visit sometime soon. 🙂

Aww... I loved your wooden headboard, but it is oversized for your room. Good for you... I'm not sure I would have had the will power to get rid of it. Just curious: Have you considered centering your bed under the window on the other wall? If you did that, then you could do the long mirror and a small nighstand/table in the corner (one like the photo with the blue upholstered headboard). It may give you the feeling of more space. Can't wait to see whatever you decide to do with it next!Carolantiquetexan.blogspot.com
