After only 2.5 years in our wonderful home, we are moving! Our house started as a gray house with no shutters and, true to the name, is being sold as a white house with black shutters. 🙂
Why are we moving?
It was a little unexpected and the journey to this point has been a roller coaster of emotions. The best way to describe it would be bittersweet. We heard there was a possibility of a new job opening for Doug requiring relocation and we braced ourselves. Would we accept? Would we move? In our last home, we were newlyweds and renovated slowly over time. While living here we completely renovated the home from top to bottom quickly so we could enjoy it. It's funny how that worked out. 🙂
Still unsure, we prayed for God's will and guidance, and things started falling into place quickly. He got an offer with his company in Chicago and we accepted. We found a new house, our offer was accepted, and we close any day now. We'll move some time this summer. I can't wait to share more details once things are finalized, it's been really hard keeping quiet!
We've known a "forever" home isn't in the cards for us, we would always be open to the possibility of moving to a new area. However, if we had a forever home, this would be it, and we would have been happy to grow old here.  Great home, large yard, quiet street, amazing neighbors, our wonderful church and school nearby, close to the highway, great community.
I almost feel like I need to have an interview process to determine who gets to live here. 😉
I'm excited at what is to come. I'm bittersweet for all we're leaving behind. I'm excited for whoever will get to live here!
Here's the pictures I snapped for the listing:
