I bet you thought that I gave up in the war against clutter. Not so my friend, not so. I tackled most of my small areas in the beginning, so all that remains are the big ones: the tool and paint section of the basement, basement toy storage, the garage, the attic (dun dun dun).
and like it sometimes does, life gets in the way! It is freezing out and the attic and garage have had to wait. I got accepted to Creating with the Stars and stuck around for two rounds (reclaimed wood breakfast bar here, peek at our Anthropologie duvet knock off here). Then we got hit with a round of stomach bugs.
These last two weeks I've set my goal on maintaining the daily stuff around the house, the stuff I have a bad habit of falling behind on every day. Dishes, laundry, putting stuff away right away, all of my vices. Here are my small victories for the last few weeks:
-I did a load of laundry a day, every day!
-I made a habit of doing a nightly clean up with the kids in the family room.
-The dishes didn't get out of control.
-I cleaned out our car while getting gas (and it took me 2o minutes to do so!). Five grocery bags of garbage, stuff to put away, and stuff to donate were taken out.
-The storage crates in the garage were condensed and organized, and 14 empty cans of spray paint were tossed! It will make life easier when my spray paint boycott is over.
-I also brought up two bags of garbage and four bags to donate in the basement, then later in the week, dropped em off.
-Two bags of unused decor off to my mother-in-law. She is redoing her accent colors in the family room and adding green. And what do ya know, we used to have a green family room!
I had some nice pillow covers, candles, and decor that were just sitting in bags in the attic that I didn't yet want to sell, but also don't need. I can't wait to see how they'll look in her updated space!
At this point, I realize it will take me longer than the remaining week to finish the 40 bags in 40 days. But we have the facebook group going strong, and there are new members joining in every day! If you feel like you want to take on this challege, I'd love to have you join us.
What spots did you tackle this past week?
Feel free to add any links in the comments!

I am taking it as it comes. I can't believe I finally cleaned off my clothes dryer. It has been a very long time since I have seen the top of the dryer. It had a lot of unnecessary clutter on it. I threw a lot away in the trash. Thank you for this.

I got rid of all of my clothes that were two sizes to large today. They are bagged near the door. I will take them to a consignment shop tomorrow.
Next project: Get rid of clothes and shoes that are one size to large. Why not both sizes? Because this was harder than I thought. It's hard to let go over everything in one swoop. I have to do this in baby steps if I am going to be successful.
