We have a huge backyard (on over an acre), but we’re always working on it and never have people over to actually enjoy it! Doug and I said that we’re going to have lots of family parties this summer, so why not start with the 4th of July? We’re starting a tradition!
We needed some patio furniture to create a party area where we could relax with family and friends. I checked out Kmart’s website and sure enough, they had what I was looking for. We packed up the kids and headed to Kmart to pick out some patio furniture!
They had a great selection and I actually had a really hard time choosing. But I kept coming back to this same set. It looked good, had a durable finish, big comfy cushions, plenty of seating, and a table for all of the food we’d no doubt be snacking on. 😉

Since Doug broke his leg, I was all on my own for this one. Uhhh... could I do it? I posted the question on facebook and instagram and had you guys cheering me on every step of the way!
Three hours later, my little 4th of July party was ready to go. 🙂
I packed a little picnic lunch: sweet tea, red cherries, white fruit dip, and blue blueberries!
uhh, no one will mind if I sneak one, right?
I love the backs of these chairs! They are so solid and sturdy.
I made navy blue gingham pillows for the holiday, and the pinwheels and flags add a hint of patriotic décor when the kids aren’t playing with them! 😉

LOVE your new patio set! We typically celebrate 4th of July with my inlaws since its my FIL birthday on the 4th... and then after that Mr. W and I head to the beach for a few days to spend with friends!

Love the set you purchased! And you're right - Kmart had so many great sets to choose from: we ended up getting a "Country Living" seating set in the dark brown wicker to match our patio. We love it! (But I was eyeing the set you chose too...because I love that color combo!)

Hey Ann, question for you, since you have 3 little ones! 🙂 A friend of mine just gave me 2 big bags of baby clothes. After I accepted, she added that she wants it all back when I'm done with them. This is new to me. I'm used to people just giving us clothes and not asking for it back. What is your take on this? It just makes me a bit nervous to have to return it all, especially since little ones can be tough on clothes!
