Even though it doesn't feel like it outside, spring is here and I couldn't be happier! I've been seeing lots of bright and bold color lately and wanted to bring those colors into our home. After adding our new breakfast bar, renovating the other half of the house, and adding a bright and colorful mom cave, I thought our family room could use some love.
I added Threshold pillows from Target in bright coral, turquoise, and yellow and it really set the tone for the space!
A olive couch can be hard to work with since it is an odd color and warm. I watched this shoppable video from the Threshold line for inspiration for the new space:
and decided that I needed to add some bright primary colors
You might recognize these coral and turquoise pillows from my recent mood board on mixing patterns and colors. They add just the right pop of color without overdoing it on the couch.
I loved the yellow gingham on these reversible pillows so much that I added those in to my cart. I headed over to a home improvement store and had my coral plates from our Easter Tablescape color matched to paint! I used the paint on some accents in the room and will add it as the room evolves
With a clipboard gallery wall and new accent colors spread through the room, the pillows really make the room pop! They let our guests (and you) know that a fun family lives here, without screaming too hard. For $100, the room looks completely different and a whole lot more ready for spring.
Here's a quick before and after (more before photos in this post)
So what do you think?
Are we ready for spring now? 🙂

I love the kids' book shelf...been trying to find where you posted about that, or have you? Where did you find that?? I love it!
Ann Marie Heasley
I found it at a garage sale for $10, it's from Pottery Barn and they do still sell it. (http://www.potterybarnkids.com/products/madison-4-shelf-bookrack/) I feel bad when people ask me about it because I got it for so cheap!! It's one of my favorite finds ever. 🙂
I heard a while back from a reader that Walmart had a similar bookshelf on their website only, but after looking for it, I can't find it anywhere.
In your search, try the term "bookrack". I could not for the life of me find the PB Kids one and that helped, haha! 🙂
