One Person’s Garbage is Another Person’s Planter

    June 14, 2011 |

    image image

We found these planters at a foreclosure sale in a garbage pile. (For the record, I probably won’t go to one again. It was a sad experience in general.)

We paid $20 for these rocks, which was awesome! They were SO heavy and huge, Doug and I struggled to load each one into the car and we had to take two trips!

At the last minute the lady said to take whatever we wanted from the yard. It was raining, all of the landscaping was pretty much huge and established, but at the last minute I spotted these planters.

SO dirty, gross, spidery (yes that’s a word), and rusty. Nothing a little scrubbing and spray paint couldn’t handle, right?

I hit them with some Rustoleum Satin black paint (what I used for our shutters, and will use today for my light!!!) and they aren’t looking too shabby…

Minus the fact that I killed the purple fountain grass. And a few other things. And I need to water it all.

But I love them! Grow babies, grow! 😉

thanks for reading our feed, please stop by the house for a visit sometime soon. 🙂
