Lemonade. Frozen strawberries. Basil.
Three simple ingredients for one amazing drink! Here’s the recipe:
You could easily use store-bought lemonade, but I made the lemonade using a mixture of fresh limes and lemons, water, sugar, and this recipe here. 🙂
me: The recipe said this is the best lemonade ever.
Doug: (sip) Really? (sip) Not bad. (sip) Yeah, I think the name is pretty accurate.
Fill your blender with 2 cups of lemonade and about a handful of frozen strawberries for a smoothie consistency. For a thicker slush, add more strawberries.
The basil in our garden is still small, so I used two of these frozen basil cubes (found them at Trader Joe’s).
Blend, serve, and sip!
The basil adds a minty, unexpected herb taste to the drink and it’s really refreshing at the end of a 90 degree day.
It also mixes well with vodka or rum… 😉
